When it comes to ensuring a long-term water supply for California, there is no question that the Legislature and the voters took a big step forward last year by approving a $7 billion bond measure, which will help build a much needed water supply infrastructure to serve the needs of 38 million Californians. The investment was long overdue and I was proud to be able to co-author the final bipartisan bond package.

The governor drove a shovel through the heart of our Central Valley when he “broke ground” earlier this month on the debacle known as High-Speed Rail (HSR). He also left a trail of broken promises made to California voters when, in 2008, they approved Proposition 1A to fund HSR.

Creo en el derecho de los trabajadores del campo a votar si quieren ser representados por un sindicato o no. Pero cuando 3,000 empleados de una granja del Valle votaron en este mismo mes hace un año para cortar sus lazos con un sindicato, la Agricultural Labor Relations Board (ALRB) de California, propiedad de un sindicato, se negó a contar los votos y persiguieron injustamente a su empleador. Eso es inaceptable.
